(Trude, the title is for you… wink wink.)
We’ve all seen those movies where the outcome is inevitable. The storyline builds and things might seem so bad that it would take a miracle to turn things around, and then suddenly the game changer happens! Somehow the hero escapes, love prevails, bad is made good, the tide turns, riches are restored, and the underdog wins! Predictable, no doubt, but guess what? Our lives are like this at times too.
Think about it. We have all had struggles, bad jobs, financial problems, fractured relationships, and broken hearts before. Sometimes we have no clue how we will get out of the mess we are in, but then God steps in and He pulls us through! Sometimes, it even feels like an actual miracle has occurred! And it has. These turnaround moments in our lives are to build our faith, hope, and trust in God. We just have to remember them.
The next time you find yourself in one of these valleys, say “I’ve seen this movie before” and recall the past turnaround moments. Remind yourself that there’s always hope because we have a faithful God. No circumstance is too difficult for God to handle. There is nothing we’ve done wrong that He can’t make right. When we remember God’s past faithfulness, we can be reassured of His future provision.
Like the writer of Lamentations, we can look back at all God has done for us in the past and take hope in knowing that God won’t give up on us now. Lamentations 3:19-26
How has God been faithful to you in the past?
What promises do you expect God will fulfill in the future?
“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.” Lamentations 3:24 KJV
He provided me with the best husband ever. I always wondered why The Lord tested me so much with so many frogs. I pray he’ll bless us with a baby in the future. God is good.
