To love God with a willing mind is to surrender our whole selves to Him; this means we let Him have the control of our thoughts, feelings, motives and the development of our mind. Consider what you are allowing yourself to think about and feel. Letting thoughts live inside our heads without observing or questioning them could lead to destruction in our lives. Our thoughts and feelings are an important aspect of who we are; and when we pay attention to what goes through our heads and hearts, we will find out a lot about the real state of our being.
Now consider the state of your being. Are you happy, healthy, content, at peace, full of life and hope or are you the contrary? Is it time to examine your thoughts? I know I need to do this. Lately, I have been struggling with worry and fear. I know that God is not the author of these thoughts and feelings; so I must be mindful and look to God to quiet those voices so that I can have peace.
You see, God wants us to follow Him and love Him with our whole being: heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30). So we need to bring our thoughts, feelings, motives, and fears to Him. Our minds are truly powerful, all feelings, actions, outcomes and results begin in the mind. Isn’t it time that we give Him the control?
